AgStar to Host GroundBreakers Conference Feb. 11 – 12, 2011
Educational Opportunity for Young, Beginning and Small Farmers
MANKATO, Minn. (February 1, 2011) – AgStar Financial Services is pleased to announce an upcoming educational event for young, beginning and small farmers. The annual two-day event provides educational and networking opportunities. The conference’s featured speaker will be Purdue University Distinguished Professor, Dr. Michael Boehlje and his presentation, “How to think like a CEO for your farm business.”
The conference begins Friday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest in Minnetonka, Minn. The conference also includes a presentation from Barron County, WI FSA Director, Randy Cook on the current available FSA government programs. Moreover, Cathy Olson and Al Bennett from AgStar’s Lookout Ridge Consulting will discuss farm transitioning and succession planning for young farmers.
An entertaining presentation from Tim Gard, “Developing a Comic Vision,” concludes the conference. Following Friday’s presentations, attendees are invited to a dinner reception with entertainment from Rex Havens.
