AgStar College Relations

Developing and inspiring students’ knowledge of agriculture and business is a passion of AgStar's. That’s why we have a variety of internship opportunities available for current college students every year.  We offer experiences and hands-on learning opportunities that allow students to take information learned in the classroom and apply it to the business world.

Here are a few quotes on what students are saying about AgStar’s internship program:

“AgStar is a an incredible place to work if you’re looking for an innovative company that makes you feel welcome, provides you with opportunities to grow, and offers an exceptional internship experience."  – Nicholas Bryant, Minnesota State University - Mankato student, 2016 Marketing Communications and Events Intern

“AgStar provides a dream internship opportunity. I was not only treated as a valued employee in my department, but was encouraged to venture outside my department to gain more experiences. I wasn’t just an intern hired to complete a task, but to grow, learn, and develop as a person.” – Mykayla Getschel, IA State University student, 2016 Ag Finance Sales Intern

“As an intern with AgStar, I didn’t just feel like a number; AgStar team members were caring, easy to collaborate with, and helped me achieve my goals for the internship.” – Carmen Kryzer, U of M – St. Paul student, 2016 Wholesale Credit Intern

“At AgStar I was able to work with an exceptional team who are committed to enhancing life in agricultural and rural communities.” – Jacob Sorensen, South Dakota State University student, 2016 Insurance Sales Intern

Here’s what one of our Associates is saying about the program:

“The Associate Program gives you the opportunity to develop skills in both Credit and Sales as well as gain an understanding of all facets of AgStar. The Associate Program is a great way to start your career and sets you up for future success at AgStar.” – Dustin Compart, South Dakota State University, Associate Financial Services Specialist

“The Associate Program was the best way for me to hit the ground running with AgStar. I had hands on training with mentors from each department and was able to learn how their work ties in with the rest of the AgStar team. Thanks to this solid understanding of each department, I was able to quickly make a positive impact on the agricultural community and build a future within AgStar.” – Rob Sexton, U of M – St. Paul, Financial Services Associate

“AgStar’s Associate Program was an excellent opportunity to develop career skills in both Sales and Credit. It was hands on experience in the financing of Agricultural and Rural America that could not be taught in school. The program develops the skill set and knowledge one needs to have a successful career at AgStar. At the time I completed the program, I had developed the knowledge and skills needed to transition into a credit position.” – Liz Tauer, Minnesota State University – Mankato, Financial Services Associate
