2012 Women's Seminars
Last year, more than 900 neighbors, moms, daughters and in-laws attended the women seminars. Each year, they arrive ready to join friends they haven't seen in awhile and to warmly greet new faces. Throughout the day, the women share concerns, learn together and laugh with delight! The information and tools they receive help them celebrate their diverse roles and the worthy work of agriculture.
The 2012 seminars, largely due in part to the feedback gathered from those attending in the seminars last year, will focus on the topic of family business and succession planning.
Back again this year is the popular Jolene Brown with a presentation titled "If We Huff and Puff, Will We Blow Your House Down?" Learn more about planning your family business' future while having a few laughs. Joining Jolene this year is Kathy Peterson, founder and president of People Works, with a presentation titled "Finding Happiness in the Craziness of Life". Attendees will be reminded that changing beliefs and behaviors can help you find true happiness.
AgStar recognizes the vital and influential role women play in today's farming operations and these seminars provide women the opportunity to learn more about the importance of their role in a farming operation and in the family. In turn, they are given the opportunity to learn how to manage a work-life balance. AgStar sponsors the seminars to honor and recognize women in agriculture, to thank them for their business and to provide a day of fun for women, surrounded by other women who are in the same positions.
